Patricia "Trish" Miller: A Journey of Wealth, Wisdom, and Wheels

In the forever evolving world of financial services, few stories are as colorful and compelling as that of Patricia "Trish" Miller. With a career spanning over two decades, Trish has woven an impressive narrative that merges the realms of wealth management, education, and a profound love for literature. 

Her story is not just about financial planning; it's a vivid illustration of how passion, perseverance, and a penchant for reading can shape one’s life's journey.

Raised in Minneapolis by a single mother, Trish encountered the harsh realities of financial insecurity early on. The departure of her father left the family in a precarious position, sparking a resolve in Trish that would define her future endeavors. 

"It was a wakeup call," she recalls. "I knew education was my ticket out." 

This realization ignited a dual passion for reading and financial savvy, leading her to sell apples, water, and pens, and babysit from a young age to save money. 

Her voracious appetite for books became both an escape and a quest for knowledge. From the adventures of the Bobbsey Twins to the mysteries solved by Nancy Drew, literature offered her a window to a world beyond her immediate circumstances. 

It was this blend of escapism and enlightenment that fueled her ambition, guiding her to Luther College in Iowa, where she pursued majors in Business Management and German, alongside a minor in International Studies. Her love for travel and exploration further enriched her academic journey.

After college, Trish inadvertently found her calling in finance, a field where she has since earned an enviable array of certifications, including Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®), and Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®) designations. 

Her approach to financial planning is holistic and empathetic, focusing on Liquidity, Longevity, and Legacy to demystify investing for her clients. "Everyone has a money story," Trish asserts, emphasizing the personal touch she brings to her profession.

Trish's reading interests are as diverse as her professional skills. A self-described "physical book person," she cherishes historical fiction for its storytelling depth. "Books like 'Wayward' by Amelia Hart resonate with me," she says, highlighting her preference for narratives that weave the lives of women across different generations. 

Despite her busy schedule, Trish makes time to read, often before bed, as a way to unwind and detach from the digital world.

Her involvement with WeRide4, a nonprofit cycling community, reflects her commitment to combining personal interests with philanthropy. As a Podium Sponsor, Trish values the sense of community and shared values fostered through cycling. "It's about giving back and connecting with like-minded individuals," she explains. 

Cycling, she says, offers her not just physical exercise but a platform for social engagement and volunteerism, extending her impact beyond the financial realm.

Trish's dedication to volunteer work, particularly through events like those at the Denver Rescue Mission, underscores her belief in the power of community and education to uplift society. "Books play a crucial role in this," she notes, drawing a parallel between her personal growth through reading and her efforts to serve the community.
