What I’m Cooking Up While "Book"-ing Up
It’s certainly been an interesting week isolated at home here in Denver. Hours upon hours of work on my computer with walks to the park sprinkled in to avoid going bonkers.
(As an aside, if I get one more online course offering in my inbox, I’m going to vomit.)
Just the other day a friend who was kind enough to check-in on me during this “shelter in place” mandate asked, “what are you cooking up project-wise during this downtime?” I thought that was an interesting question because indeed my culinary skills have been on full blast during the isolation period.
Here is a photo highlighting one of my recent culinary delights:
So imagine my excitement last night (after opening up a Netflix account) at discovering the series “Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat,” based on the bestselling book by Samin Nosrat.
I first learned about this book while perusing the shelves at The Book Catapult in San Diego.
So I had some familiarity with it.
But last night, after three hours of watching the series, I was like WOW!
One of my goals after this COVED-19 health crisis dissipates is to set up a series of exclusive dinner/discussion events across the nation featuring guest authors. That among other things is what I’m cooking up.
P.S. The book Kitchen Confidential was a major influence on my decision to start the “Great Books, Great Minds Project.” I aspire to do for the book world what “Anthony Bourdain” did for the food world.
Stay tuned and stay safe. And, oh yea, Book Appetit!
