I guess I'm wondering how you can be connected with the world around you and be in the present while walking plugged into your phone listening to a guy who isn't there who did this audio book at some other time in the past. This isn't meant to be snarky - I just have always found that I must be unplugged and paying attention or plugged in listening to music or a book, but they are two separate and distinct experiences. Thoughts?
If I’m walking the same path every day, I find listening to certain books or podcasts to be a meditative exercise. It will often spark an idea or memory, making me stop to take a note so I can pick up and ponder the idea later.
I just read Martin Prior's article about his experience running while listening to an audiobook. What an interesting coincidence! https://open.substack.com/pub/neverstoplearning1/p/uncool-runnings?r=bkfy&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web
That was brilliant Mary, thanks for sharing!
It's too funny because I just posted an article about Serendipity. Now, I'm seeing these coincidences everywhere.

Thanks, I just subscribed to you as well, and love your post on serendipity...it’s one of my favorite things!
Thanks for writing about this book. I love listening to audiobooks when I walk, and this sounds perfect...it’s on my TBR list now.
I can assure you that it’s worth the read.
I often listen to audiobooks while walking with my pups. This sounds like a good choice. Thanks.
It’s a gem for sure Victoria. Jonathon is the real deal.

IDK. We are all wired differently. Me, I just listen and walk while aiming to avoid ending up on the front hood of a car.
Haha! I'm in the country so it means not tripping on sticks I guess!

Yes! The author Jonathon Stalls in fact talks about that in his book.
This book is on my list, and your post just bumped it up. Sounds great. Thank you!
