I don't think I knew you were also formerly employed by B&N (that was one of my first jobs!) Also YES to all of this!! Thank you for sharing the stats. Bookstores, libraries and reading are the backbone of our empathy and humanity.

Hey Jennifer. Great to hear from you. 🙌 for Barnes & Noble. But I barely made any money while working there because I was busy purchasing so many books. 😂

Great article, Diamond. You describe bookstores as becoming an antidote to the Electronic Plague. And so are books even read on Kindle.

This article is a contribution to the emergence of Freeorder, much dependent on diversity of thought and the utilization of constructive contention of vision and ideas -- all supported by bookstores made by people with strong ideas about what it makes sense to offer others to read. Thank you!

Thanks so much for this very encouraging report! How do I love book stores? Let me count the ways... It's so good to have this evidence that they are thriving at a time when they are so desperately needed.

This was so uplifting to read, thank you! A B&N recently opened in the town near me, and even though we have a wonderful independent bookstore in my own town, there's something nourishing and exciting about having a second one open up, especially in an area like mine. And you've explained why, thank you!
