If your answer happens to be “none” or your memory is a little fuzzy, we’ll make that OK for now (without it not really being OK).
Just a reminder that February is Black History Month. The brainchild of noted Black historian Carter G. Woodson, every U.S. president since 1976 has designated this month as a time to spotlight the achievements of Black Americans and our central role in U.S. history.
Need a little help with a Black History book selection? Then I encourage you to hop on over to “Black Books, Black Minds,” which is a sub-publication of “Great Books, Great Minds” and subscribe. My aim here is to ignite a new world of community, connection, and belongingness through the rich trove of Black History books, thought leaders, and authors we unearth.
In terms of my own reading, I am starting February with the selection in the image above. Please share what you’re planning to read in the comment/or chat section below.
I’ve committed to re-reading “White Fragility” by Robin DiAngelo by the end of the month. Thank you for this thoughtful post during such an important month. Black history should be all year since it’s US history.
