I am excited that we are beginning to see the spring season unfold. Winter here in Denver has felt oppressively long leading me to resort to a more self-restricted form of existence. With the recent break in the weather pattern suggesting warmer days ahead, I’ve decided it’s time to re-ignite my expansionary ways in preparation for a major birthday milestone in June.
For starters, I recently made a pivot back to my favorite analog paper calendar system. While there certainly have been benefits to going digital, I find that having note pages for creatively doodling and imagining allows me to bring a new energy to my intentions. Additionally, the wide expansive nature of the monthly calendar pages allows me a more panopticonic and complete view of my road ahead.
Along with a Passion Planner again serving as my daily tool, I’ve now decided to revisit the book “The 10X Rule: The Only Difference Between Success and Failure” by Grant Cardone. While I personally Grant’s bodacious, loud-mouth, ego driven style a bit off-putting at times, his philosophy in my opinion is spot-on for those pursuing an expansive future vision.
The 10X Rule asserts that 1) the true road to massive achievement begins when you set highly focused targets for yourself that are 10X greater than you believe you can achieve; and 2) we need to take actions that are seismically 10X greater than we believe are needed in order to achieve these targets.
Cardone believes that the biggest misstep most people make in life is not setting their targets high enough for what they want.
In this brief video, prominent thought leader and psychologist Benjamin Hardy explores Cardone’s 10X prescription and the significance it can have for fostering an expansive world-view.
