Wowza! A "Great Books, Great Minds" Community Update
Spring is nearly upon us and with that comes some fresh new paint for “Great Books, Great Minds.”
With this, I am pleased to announce that writer extraordinaire Emily Black has joined our team as a Senior Columnist.
Here is a brief intro to Emily’s life in her own words:
“I currently balance many spinning plates. Firstly, I consider myself an artist, a writer, and a creative professional. I take great pride in my personal projects because they were all completed through self-education and self-motivation.”
“I’ve been writing since the young age of 13 as a creative outlet for my scattered mind. I’ve been overflowing with ideas from a very young age, and I continue to conceptualize them into my adult work. I’m somewhere in between a logical, orderly mind and an eclectic, expressive soul. That is my greatest gift. When I’m not working, you can find me reading, painting, cooking, or updating my personal blog (emilyblackwrites.home.blog).”
In addition, I’ve asked a friend of mine Kris Wood to join us as a guest contributor. After ruminating for months about whether our community would find interest in her book reviews, she published an article on food and gardening featuring noted author Barbara Kingsolver. It currently has the distinction of being the most popular article among our global community of rabid book lovers. — You go, Kris!
Already on board with us and doing an amazing job is Lauren Richey who is leading our efforts to produce NPR audio interviews for our book community. Lauren is taking a renewal break to recharge her batteries after leaving her full-time gig but will be back soon.
MARCHing Forward With Books
This month promises to be jammed packed with feature stories that will have you salivating about the reading world.
In fact, take a moment and check out our latest articles including a powerful feature piece about former NBA basketball star James Donaldson and his recovery from a tumultuous 2018 where he lost virtually everything in his life except his courage to endure.
I also want to let you know that my global tour of 2020 bookstores by 2030 is back in full swing with upcoming stops in Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, and San Diego. So stay tuned for updates from me on my travails.
Finally, for our sustaining members, we are launching a “Great Books, Great Minds” facilitated webcast community where you’ll have the opportunity to dialogue and converse online with celebrated book authors from around the world. Look for this to commence in early April.
Speaking of membership, we would love your support.
